路經中國城一個巷子，喜歡牆壁上的燈影，回車子拿三腳架，回來後，剛剛架好機位，調好構圖對焦參數，就在按下快門的一瞬間，突然駛來一部車子，在我原先構想的畫面中劃下幾道意外的流光。在兩秒鐘的曝光時間裡促成了這個照片。但是我想，這個照片的誕生早在那兩秒鐘以前就已經開始了。 在佛家的觀念裡，開始與結束並無絕對，一切都是因緣和合的結果。這張照片的生成是因為我看到光影，因為我取來了三腳架，因為那輛車正好在那一刻駛過。假如我沒有被那牆上的燈影吸引，沒有決定回車上取三腳架，沒有車子經過，那麼這一道流光或許就不會存在。它的緣起，或許早在我停下腳步，端詳著光影的那一刻，便已經註定。 Walking through an alley in Chinatown, I was drawn to the play of light and shadow on the wall.
